Rachael grew up in Scotland and went to five different primary schools, including one in Melbourne, Australia for a while. Then she came home, lived near Edinburgh, and went to university in Northern Ireland. Since then she’s worked as a commis chef in Germany, (where she set herself on fire making pasta), been a hotel chambermaid on the Isle of Skye, worked on a strawberry farm, run a stable yard, managed an Arabian stud farm, worked at a vets, worked for a national newspaper, run a marathon, and answered questions for a living. All of which has given her lots to write about!
She’s lived on a Scottish island in a house belonging to the Marquess of Bute, in a cottage on Lord Mountbatten’s country estate in Essex and goodness knows how many other places in the UK. She recently left a pretty village in Buckinghamshire for a new life by the sea.
She (her partner, their six children and various animals) now live in Southport, a beautiful Victorian seaside resort in the North West of England.
Rachael is the author of the bestselling self-publishing phenomenon, SEALED WITH A KISS, which has had over 412 amazon reviews and hit the top 10 paid Amazon bestseller list. Her blog, http://rachaellucas.com/blog, has been recognised as a 2013 Blog to Watch by US lifestyle website Popsugar (which has 20m readers a month). She writes for the Huffington Post and has talked books, social media and writing at blogging conferences throughout the UK.
Pan Macmillan published the print edition of Sealed With a Kiss in May 2014 and Rachael is currently writing a new novel for them.
