Lucy Strange is a children’s author based in Canterbury, Kent. Her first novel, The Secret of Nightingale Wood, was published in October 2016 and was the Waterstones Book of the Month.
The Secret of Nightingale Wood was shortlisted for the North East Book Award and the Awesome Book Award, and was described as ‘startlingly good’ by The Daily Telegraph who placed it at Number 10 in the Top 50 Books of 2016. It has been translated into French, Dutch, German and Hungarian, with editions in Farsi and Mandarin on their way. The U.S. edition was launched in New York at the end of 2017 and was immediately chosen for Amazon’s list of the Best Children’s Books of the Year.
Lucy’s next novel, Our Castle by the Sea, is set on the Kent coast during the Second World War. It is a project supported by Arts Council England and is due to be published by Chicken House in January 2019 and by Scholastic in the US shortly afterwards.
